A Unique Location
The Hotel Cristina is set above the hillside in the country Parish of St Lawrence away from the hustle and bustle; a place to relax and take in the panoramic views. St Lawrence has some of Jersey’s prettiest ‘Green Lanes’ and most beautiful granite cottages.
St Helier, Jersey’s main ‘capital’ town is just a short distance away. It’s very easy to get there by bus, the number 15 is often a double-decker and is the airport shuttle bus, hence they run very often. The bus stop is just below the hotel, on what Islander’s call the ‘inner road’. Within minutes you can be in town, although it is best to avoid the rush hours during commuter times.
For some fresh air you can use the cycle promenade along St Aubin’s beach to get into St Helier. There are many places to lock up your bike once you are there. Visit Liberty Wharf, an old converted abattoir, with it’s cool funky boutiques and cafes.
You can now rent E-bikes direct from the hotel either before or during your stay.
St Helier is great for shopping; King Street is the main street, lined with boutiques, restaurants and bars. The 2 main department stores are Voisins, which is family-owned, selling all top designer clothes as well as beauty and perfumery. The other is De Gruchy, a long-standing and very large department store which has been refurbished, here you’ll also find designer clothing, shoes and handbags plus a large cosmetic area.
St Helier is also home to the Central Market, in the area, you’ll find craft shops, butchers, fishmongers, florists and foodie places. Take the kids to see the goldfish pond in the middle of this most famous and popular of local destinations. In the heart of the Weighbridge in St Helier is situated the Jersey Museum.
From the hotel, you can explore the surrounding attractions. The Glass Church, famous for its Lalique glass, is nearby and so are the Jersey War Tunnels which used to be known as the Jersey Underground Hospital. If you love history and are interested in WW2 then this is a must-visit!
The hotel is your base to discover Jersey’s many attractions, treasures and fantastic Jersey beaches. Head west by bike or car towards St Ouen’s Bay, a local surfing mecca and National Trust wildlife attraction and home to the iconic Corbiere lighthouse.
